Power In The Little

God doesn’t use great things or ideas to make a man great, so that he won’t ascribe his greatness to his great ideas, rather; He uses the little things to confound the wise of this world. Quantity is in number and size but God doesn’t work with number and size, rather, He works with what you can start with and where you can start from with a view of where you are going.

For any man to experience greatness in whatever he does, he will have to be humble enough to appreciate the days of little beginning. Greatness will be daisy; if you kill the little in your hands, inside the little in your hands lies your GREATNESS.

I am bring this word “POWER IN THE LITTLE” to challenge you to do what you need to do, so as to produce the surprising result that is rare. Never ignore great things that are ahead but come in little ideas, don’t ignore it because “Ignoring the days of little beginning is compromising the days of greater end that lies ahead of you”.

Grab the little that comes across your way to seek for great things because it is the little that comes across you that will lead you to great things that you have been dreaming about. Therefore, as a young graduate, who aspires to become another business mogul, you need to grab the opportunity of starting from the little idea. My dear salary earners, who have been thinking of resigning to start big; why don’t you think of starting small from where you are and see it grow big, bigger to an enviable state.

Jesus needs to feed the multitude, the usher counted men to be 5, 000 without women and children, which approximately will lead them to the count of about 20, 000 (including women and children). He has nothing to offer them after he had taught them for three days and doesn’t want them to go without food, so they won’t get wearied and tired on the way home. Jesus requested for what He can offer but there was no place in the wilderness where they could get what can feed such a number of people.

The disciples met with a young boy with two fishes and five loaves of bread, trying to gather such as they can get so as to feed the people. Lo and behold, Jesus collected this little from the boy; gave thanks and got the people fed and the young boy also left with twelve baskets after this faith business transaction with Jesus.

Jesus didn’t despise the little He was given. The young boy also didn’t despise the little he had, he opened his investment firm that day, which attracted much more capital base. There is power in the little. As a matter of fact, if you have great dreams, you must pass through the little, which will lead to greatland. The same way it cannot be possible for you to count digit from 1-20 without counting 1-9 before you jump to 10, if you start from 10, you have missed a cogent part of the digits, likewise it is not possible for you to get to the top without passing through the little level. if you do, you have missed some experiences you will need later that will require you to start from the scratch.

Every Great Achiever Started From Little

Nobody is born to the world as grown up as he or she is. It is natural that you would have been born a few KG at birth before you start growing in your mother’s hand until now. This implies that, there is no enviable firm that you have come across that didn’t start from little.

CNN: This was the brainchild of Robert “Ted” Tumer, whose father committed suicide in 1963. He took over his father’s business of billboard advertising company. He bought a failing Atlanta TV station that broadcast old movies and network reruns in 1970.

Cable News Network was once called Chicken Noodle Network because he lost money in the first year of its operation in 1980. He kept building the network news bureaus around the world and in 1983, he bought satellite news channel, owned in part by ABC, and thereby eliminated CNN’s main competitor.

The network gained significant attraction with its live coverage of the Persian Gulf War in 1991 and the network’s audience grew along with the increasing popularity of cable television during the 1990s.

In 1996, CNN merged with Time Warner, which merged with America Online four years later. Today, Ted Turner is an environmentalist and peace activist whose philanthropic efforts include a 1997 gift of $1 billion to the United Nations.

Elizade Motors: Michael was born in Nigeria on June 14, 1938 to a modest couple. At a very young age, he became a street vendor, and started selling charcoal, food & firewood to help make ends meet.

Although born in a time when there was little to no financial aid for the less privileged, and parents believed a lot lesser in education, he still successfully made it through high school, and later got a degree in Business Administration from the university.

After his graduation, he joined the work force at CFAO motors; a French distribution company. This same company had paid the tuition for his last two years in the university.

In 1966, while still working as a salesman for CFAO motors, he successfully sold 20 trucks to the Electricity Corporation of Nigeria, but to his dismay, his manager took credit for the sale, which led to a protest by Michael, followed with the lost of his job by the end of the year.

After his ousting at CFAO motors, he moved on, and got a job at British Petroleum (BP). Within three months of his employment, he increased the sales of his local division by 25%. But just as he was unfortunate with his previous employment, his new boss took credit for the outstanding growth, and this left him aggrieved and lost in thoughts.

While in Lagos, Nigeria, during his annual British Petroleum (BP) holiday, he decided to take a daring step to approach the RT Brisco Group; an importer and distributor of trucking and automobile equipments. He made them an offer to sell their equipments for a commission on every successful sale.

After careful consideration, the RT Brisco Group decided to give him a trial. In just four months after he sealed the deal with Brisco, he sold about 40 cars. The commissions earned from the total sales, were overwhelmingly higher than his yearly salary at BP. This motivated him to quit his job, and pursue his dreams.

In 1971, he started the company, Elizade Independent Agencies (EIA), with his wife, Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo. The name Elizade, was derived from both his wife’s name, Elizabeth, and his own name, Ade. His company focused on the distribution of automobiles in Nigeria, especially Japanese cars.

He acquired the license to import Toyota Cars, with the name, Toyota Nigeria Limited, and single handedly made the car brand, the most sought-after automobile brand in Nigeria. He later went on to acquire 100% of RT Briscoe in Nigeria, and subsequently acquired more shares, to make his total holdings in Toyota Nigeria Limited, sum up to 74%.

Today, his conglomerate consists of Toyota Nigeria Limited, RT Briscoe Nigeria, Elizade Auto Land, Classic Motors Limited, Crow Motors Nigeria Limited, Elizade University, Okin Travels Limited, and a host of other investments. He’s also on the board of directors of several Nigeria banks and other companies such as Ecobank, First City Monument Bank, and SMT Nigeria Limited (the official distributors of Mack trucks, Volvo trucks & Volvo Construction Equipments).

From Littleness To Greatness

If you take more time to read histories of some more companies or individuals who started from the little, you will understand how they migrated from the little to great level they are today.

Start Little: With a few biographies that you have read and our monthly interviews with our guest, you will have deduced that you cannot shy away from starting little. You must be resolute to start little while you are young, so that your firm can grow with you as you grow in age, don’t avoid what you will have to do later now when you have the strength to take it across the globe. Take time to read “They Didn’t Start Big!

They Started Small!! They Grew Big!!! They Grew Bigger!!!! share, refer, comment and ask questions from our blogsite: bizxploit.blogspot.com.

Persistence: Wherever you see the word “persistence” or the action persistence in place, it reveals that there are many challenges that have surfaced but have been conquered by God’s grace. There are valleys in our life journey. As you embark on this great journey, you need to be prepared for the unprepared, so that the unprepared for will not scare and sway you away from your journey to destiny.

There are many packed up businesses today, many abandoned projects that will never see the light of the day any longer because the pioneer couldn’t persevere to be persistent, he couldn’t look into the eyeball of challenges and speak the way David spoke to Goliath, that I am GIANT KILLER, I am sent to kill you and not you to finish me.

Friends, your victory and breakthrough lie in your persistence not in your avoidance of what you should put under your subjection. Stand your ground that you are here to be established and to displace whoever and whatever doesn’t want you to be established.

Have Target, Pursue and Achieve Target: You cannot experience greatness, if you haven’t seen it, which will propel you to have target born of your vision and goal. As you aren’t comfortable in the valley of littleness, you have to see from afar, which is your target, pursue your target wholeheartedly and ensure you achieve your target.

A Pastor friend said this to me that: “The reward of hardwork is more hardwork”, the achievement of your target will surely lead you to having another greater target for you to achieve. As you keep on achieving those targets, you are moving from one level of greatness to another until history repeats itself in your life, that people will begin to envy you because you will threaten them.
